Well, I just returned from Philadelphia. Every once and a while I hear people talking bad about that city and I must say, for the most part... I love it. There is just something heartwarming about TSA officials yelling at you for no reason when you arrive (and depart) at the airport. Such a warm greeting can only mean great things for a city...
Why Philly? My dear sister Heather was married to Mike! Yay! Yes, I cried but did not pass out. So, 3 weddings for 3 sisters... Remaining conscious for 2 out of 3 ain't bad. It was also great to see family and some friends from college.
Tried a new Philly Cheesesteak place this time around. Now I am about up to 8 or 9 places. Also had dessert at a great place called RAE, voted one of the best restaurants of 2007 by Esquire Magazine.
Another great time is McGillins Old Ale House. They do Karaoke about 3 times a week there. By far, the most rowdy and obnoxious Karaoke crowd I've ever been around... It was lovely. 3 Cheers for:
1. Our two new friends who sang the crap out of the "Golden Girls" intro song!
2. The whitest guy I've ever seen singing (and dancing) the "Humpty Dance". I'm pretty sure he didn't need the TV screen with the lyrics...
3. The two guys who sat next to me debating the meaning of the song '867-5309'. Classy.
We didn't make it this time around to the POP SHOP, but if you're in Collingswood, NJ, don't miss it...
So, quite the weekend... Yay, Heather!
